Bible perspective about Gambling.
Although the Bible does not discuss gambling in detail, we can discern from Bible principles that God views gambling as a sin.— Ephesians 5: 17. *
*.
Gambling is driven by greed, which God hates. ( 1 Corinthians 6: 9, 10; Ephesians 5: 3, 5) Gamblers hope to gain money through the losses of others, but the Bible condemns coveting other people’s possessions.— Exodus 20:17; Romans 7:7; 13: 9, 10.
*.
Gambling, even for small amounts, can arouse a destructive love of money.— 1 Timothy 6: 9, 10.
*.
Gamblers often rely on superstitions or luck. However, God views such beliefs as a form of idolatry, which is incompatible with his worship.— Isaiah 65:11.
*.
Rather than promote a desire to get something for nothing, the Bible encourages hard work. ( Ecclesiastes 2: 24; Ephesians 4: 28) Those who follow the Bible’s advice can “eat food they themselvesearn.”— 2 Thessalonians 3: 10, 12.
*.
Gambling can arouse an unhealthy competitive spirit, which is disapproved in the Bible.— Galatians 5: 26

The allocation of the intervention funds is expected to boost job creation in the country and help stabilize the economy.
The sum of N200 billion has been set aside for the intervention project as contained in the 2016 budget proposal presented on Tuesday, December 22, 2015.
Speaking in an interview with BBC Hausa yesterday, December 24, the president emphasized the fact that although the plan is to ensure job creation through the intervention funds, not every citizen will receive directly from the process.
He said:“It would be impossible for everybody to get the welfare. But we all know that the federal government has been saying that it would work closely with state and local governments. And at the local government level, it could be said that everybody knows each other. They know those who have small businesses that can receive the support and retrieve it.
“This issue is clear and how to administer it is very much known by the people. Therefore, the arrangement must strictly be followed to ensure job creation.”
President Buhari also stated that 30 percent of the 2016 budget has been set aside for capital projects in order to help revamp the nation’s economy.
According to the president, the issue of disbursing funds for salaries of ghost workers has been addressed. This is in a bid to attend to pressing issues as well as steer the nation towards better resource maximization. To this end, there are currently 24 ministers in the country as against 42 from the previous administration.

ZIKA VIRUS.
Bumpy rash, achy joints, inflamed eyes? Almost 24,000 infant have been infected by Zika Virus.
There’s a new disease in townNever heard of the Zika virus? That may change soon. Almost unknown in humans until the past decade, Zika is now spreading fast through South America and Oceania, and it may soon knock on our doors, too. Although it can resemble a mild case of the flu, the disease can lead to some serious neurological complications, including paralysis and difficulty breathing. It’s also the first known mosquito-borne disease that can be transmitted sexually among humans.
The virus was discovered in 1947 in a feverish rhesus monkey living in the Zika Forest of Uganda, but until 2007 scientists knew of only 14 human cases of the disease. That year it arrived on the travel-brochure-perfect Yap Island in the southwestern Pacific Ocean. Within a few months, nearly three-quarters of the island’s 11,000 or so residents older than 3 had been infected.
At first, those sick with Zika developed fever, joint pains and eye inflammation; then a red, bumplike rash erupted, sometimes followed by painful swelling of hands and feet. Some people vomited. Others were sensitive to light. But the symptoms usually resolved a couple of days later, and no one died.
In 2013 Zika popped up again, this time in Tahiti and other parts of French Polynesia. An estimated 28,000 people (about 11 percent of the population of those islands) felt sick enough with the virus to seek medical care. By 2014 it was showing up in several other South Pacific spots: New Caledonia, east of Australia; the Cook Islands; and, early this year, Easter Island, which marked the official arrival of the disease in the Americas, since that remote island is part of Chile.
Zika showed up in Brazil in May, prompting the World Health Organization and the Pan American Health Organization to issue an epidemiological alert. As of June 16, the number of suspected cases in the Brazilian state of Bahia topped 24,000.
So what happened? Why would an obscure virus emerge so suddenly and spread so fast?
Zika is a flavivirus related to yellow fever, chikungunya, dengue fever, West Nile and Japanese encephalitis, all of which are common in tropical climates but have started to spread in the United States and Europe in concert with warming temperatures, and they can cause serious health problems, even death. One possibility is that the virus has evolved, either making humans more susceptible or making it easier for mosquitoes to transmit it. “These types of viruses can evolve very fast,” Freire says. “The problem [with confirming that theory] is that we have very few complete genomes of this virus to study.”
Researchers believe that Zika most likely was spread in the blood of an infected traveler — perhaps someone from Uganda or elsewhere in East Africa — who served as a meal for a local mosquito. When that insect latched on to someone else, a new chain of transmission began.
The virus spread quickly because people in the new location had no previous exposure or immunity. “When a new virus is introduced in a population which has never seen it before, it can be transmitted easily, explosion-like,”Therefore, Zika virus will likely spread to new areas, and people should take steps to prevent mosquito bites to reduce their risk of infection.”

YOUR BODY AS AN ENGINE. (Part 1) Stay Healthy.
YOUR BODY AS AN ENGINE. (Part 1) Stay Healthy.
Compiled by Edidiong Rapheal Udoeyop
Taking care of your health can improve your performance —and your quality of life.
Awake ! Magazine of october 2012 highlight thus.
It Only makes sense to take care of the body that God gave you.
To illustrate: Imagine that you own a car, but you never take time to maintain it. The car will only go so far before it breaks down. The same can happen to your body. What kind of “maintenance” do you need?
>> REST.
Skimping on sleep can make you look haggard and leave you feeling lethargic, confused, and even depressed. In contrast, getting sufficient rest will give you more energy. It can also accelerate your physical growth, improve your brain function, boost your immune system, and enhance your emotional well-being. That is quite a return for something that requires so little effort!
*[Tip]*: If possible, try to go to bed at the same time each night.
>>NUTRITION
Teens grow rapidly. Between the ages of 10 and 17, for example, most boys double their lean body weight. Girls experience a growth spurt too. Growing bodies need plenty of raw materials and energy. Make sure that you give your body the nutrition it needs.
*[Tip]*: Do not skip breakfast. ‘Fueling up’ before class can help you improve your concentration and your short- term memory.
>>EXERCISE
It can strengthen your muscles and bones, improve your stamina, control your weight, increase your mental capabilities, boost your immunity, alleviate stress, and lift your mood. Of course, exercise can also be fun, since it can include activities you enjoy!
Adequate sleep, balanced nutrition, and moderate exercise will help you keep your “engine” running. Andthat,in turn, will help you upgrade your performance.
Why not get started? Establish a reasonable exercise routine. Track your sleeping habits and diet for a month, and note any improvements you need to make.
